Just a Lil' Post

Hi there friends, just sitting here in lovely North Carolina enjoying a short little vacation with Brooke and Branden (my cousin and brother-in-law). Too bad, everyone else we know from here is recently moved or gone this weekend, but we are having a fabulous time. I know I've been promising pictures for like a month, but this time I mean it I will be posting some fabulous pictures as soon as I get back. Including some of Brooke who is 9 months pregnant and has a basketball stuffed under her shirt, it will be great! In the mean time you can head over to Nancy's blog , my mother-in-law and catch up just a bit on all the crazy fun stuff we've done recently.

With Love(for now)!

bittersweet world

Two days left people. That's right I said it, I only have two days left and I have my credential. It's rather bittersweet because not only do I have to say goodbye to my kids, but I also have to find a job. This will be the hard part considering my district is not even hiring. However, on the sweet side I will be a credentialed teacher and I get an ice cream party on my last day!!
I wish I could post some pics of my little kiddos, but it's not really proper protocol to put pictures of your students on your personal blog. So, you'll just have to trust me, they're cute.
Tonight was Open House and it was so FUN. The school I was at goes ALL out. The fourth graders had 3 feet cakes puzzled together in the shape of California. Each student had made a section and then decorated it for the area it represents. Another teacher had the students create paper stuffed versions of themselves, with the students real clothes sitting in the desk stuffed with paper. So cute. I wanted to get a picture, but I missed it.

I will also soon post some pictures. My in-laws have been visiting SD for the last two months and we have done some really fun stuff. So look for pictures to come! I'm just lazy and that's why you haven't yet seen them.

XOXO P.S. Cry a tear for Danny Gokey, I should have voted!

Why I love Danny Gokey??

So, I had an absolutely indulgent night of television via TiVo. Jake and I watched all of Biggest Loser (one of our fav shows for quite some time). Jake says some kind of mean things about the people (that I won't incriminate him by repeating), but every Tuesday he says, "baby, guess what today is?" So, I know he really loves the show. And I love the show, because I love shows that give people hope and transform their lives and it's just a good reminder of what I never want to be like, you know what I mean- because all it does is bring you agony.

But no my binge didn't stop there. It also included 3 episodes of American Idol (last week's and today's). And I have to say, I think I have watching Idol on TiVo down to a science. Each singer (that I like) gets watched for their singing ONLY, now all the singers get watched cause we're at the end. Then I fast forward and watch only Simon's comments, cause I agree with him most. Unless it was a special performance and maybe I watch more and this can be done in like 12 minutes. Then I watch the kickoff show in like 5 minutes. As in the last 5 minutes, when the only thing I actually care about takes place. And then I'm done. So, I was watching last week, which was a tribute to the Rat Pack and the good ole' days and Danny was so amazing, and the judges agreed. Sometimes I think that Adam may be more talented, but he's so self-indulgent it's hard to love him.
So, since AI is like crazy about not letting anyone post anything live from their show unless you buy it on iTunes. I couldn't get the exact video of Rat Pack week, but you can hear the feed attached. Jamie Foxx was the guest and this is why I love Danny Gokey.
