Penny for your thoughts

I get the weekend paper because I like to cut coupons. Sometimes on Sundays I'll briefly flip through the ads of a few stores. One I like to glimpse at is Staples, because especially near the beginning of school. They have items for $.01. That's right, one cent people. Usually they have limits of 2,5,10 it varies. But if you are a teacher then the limit is 25. So, within the last few weeks I have gotten 8 packs of pencils for a penny, 100 sheet packages of notebook paper and today I got folders (25 of them of course). I just can't believe that I can give them a quarter and walk out of the store, it's amazing. So, word to the wise check the staples ads and you might find a new use for all those annoying pennies we complain about.

Obsession

I've occasionally mentioned on my blog before that I like to read. I have always been a bookworm (fiction only), not to say I don't try to read nonfiction, I do. It's just that is usually takes me like 6 months to finish any one book and I can read most fiction much faster (like a week or a day or sometimes a few hours). This summer I have read over 20 some books and not because I sit around reading all day, it's rather because I stay up all night reading. It's exactly the same as when I was a kid. In that regard I haven't changed at all. I love to read at night. I'm so bad about it. It will be 10:30 and I will think to myself, "I'll just crawl in bed and read for a few" and 2 hours later, I am FORCING myself to close the book, not tired at all because reading makes me completely engaged and not sleepy, but I love it. Anyway, I titled this post with obsession because last January over my winter break I read this

entire series in a week's time. Not to mention all of the books are over 500 pages. I was obsessed and I loved every minute of it, not wanting the story to end.
So, this is August not January, you may be thinking. Why am I blogging about this now?
Well, my loving husband rereads books over and over. Not something I do at all. However, this particular series was drawing me back to itself as it sat longingly on my bookshelf. Not to mention this particular character's

beautiful image in my mind. (Don't worry my husband knows, he also knows he's a character that a love obsessed woman wrote, so I don't think he feel too threatened.)
However, as summer was coming to and end and of course the second movie in the series is coming to theatre this fall. I couldn't stop myself. I had to read them again. And guess what? While I just started reading some time last weekend...I'm already half way through the last book. And all week long I was busy going to schools and looking for jobs, I wasn't just sitting around reading. But every night, I had a date. It was calling me. I didn't even care if my husband played video games this week. So, I just had to tell you, even the second time around they are so good. I skimmed a few pages on the second book because of some unfortunate events I already knew the outcome of. But everywhere else I read every single word and loved it. So, there you have it. The cats out of the bag. I'm obsessed and I don't care who knows. :)

Backdrops

So, today Jake has duty, and I'm supposed to be writing cover letters and getting things done because principals go back to school tomorrow, but somehow for the last two hours INSTEAD I've been messing with my blog. Ask me if that was a productive way to spend my time? (I categorized all my blog posts by topic, that was fun.) But, I'll answer. No, it wasn't, but there's no going back now. So, as you can see I've chosen this lovely black paisley, but not before I chose about 5 teacher backgrounds with ABC's and 123's on them. I was trying to be festive and getting in the right mindset for getting a job, but it didn't work instead it just made me nauseous because they were so cheesy looking. So, here we have it folks, the new and improved, just some words...
For now, I'm gonna be good and get offline. :)

I'm sorry I haven't blogged. It's just that nothing too exciting is happening in my life and I don't think alot of people want to hear about the books I'm reading. Which is the main thing I've been doing. However, a few things have happened so I'm sucking it up to talk about em'. First off, my little precious child

aka Charlie is sick.
He was acting really lethargic and anyone that knows my kitties know they never act lethargic, they act like mischievous toddlers. So, we debated for like 5 days whether to go to the vet and we finally did and he of course had a raging fever and really weird blood panel results, so he's on a boatload of medicine, while they try to figure out what's wrong with him. He's not following any normal symptomatic problems, so they aren't exactly sure what's up. Luckily, the tests they took came back and knocked off some of the more serious things that could be wrong, but for now my little guy is still sick.
However, he's so sweet about taking his meds. Back in February when we first got the cats and Emily was sick, she would spit, bite and vomit to get that medicine out of her mouth, but luckily my sweet natured boy Charlie just takes the abuse....
I mean in his mind it's abuse, I'm obviously saving his life, but it's hard to explain that to a cat.
Anyway, in other blogging news I technically got a job, but not a good one. I got another gig to sub at a private Christian school. Which is good because the more outlets I have to sub, the greater the chance that I'll sub everyday. But it's still not what I want, which is obviously a classroom. The chances of that are not dead, but I'm just making plans in case it doesn't happen. So, I think that's all. In other news I made Grandma Iny's Cake AGAIN because it was SO good and Jake asked for it again. I've also been going to yoga everyday and reading lots of books. But like I said I won't bore you with those. Anyway, talk soon!
