In Defense of Country Music

I love country music. Now, I'm not a total diehard, you'll hear me listening to a bunch of other stuff too. But there is just something about country that is right with the world. I mean it talks about Jesus, forgiveness and love as much as any genre can. But it also talks about life, problems, the forgotten virtues of respect and honor. It makes room for the mistakes of youth and doesn't take life too seriously.
I know this is a funny thought, but I know when I've listened to it before I've thought, I wish the church could more like country music. Teaching love, Jesus and respect, but without so much judgement involved.
Now, obviously not every country song exemplifies this, but the spirit of country music does. You just get in your car, turn it on and forget about all your problems. And all is right in the world again.
Maybe I'm just missing the south, I've lived elsewhere too long now.

Barely there

I took these photos last week, I meant to post them all week, and of course didn't. However, tomorrow I will be 14 weeks pregnant, so if I don't post them today, they won't even be valid anymore. So, here goes my "barely there" baby bump.

This is me sucking in, like I had to do for the past 3 months at work, can just barely see my little bump.

This is me (in the morning) finally just letting my little baby hang out.

And then here's the big whammy, me at 11 o'clock at night after I've eaten too much and let everything settle.

Yep there's a baby in there!
I will post some more in a few more weeks. My little journey begins.

Love and babies

In my last post I mentioned how I hadn't blogged much lately and I have to admit it was partly due to this

That's right I have a little bun in the oven, for anyone who has yet to know. After I saw those two pink lines in January.

I found it so much harder to blog. Whenever I blog, I find myself in an honest place, just writing about whatever I want to, and when I had a huge secret it felt like I couldn't just be free to write and so I didn't.
But now that the news is open to the world, I actually went to my blog first (even before facebook) to let my virtual friends know.
So, while I promise this won't become a preggy blog, I'm sure it will affect my stories, cause the little thing inside me is part of the story now.... For good.
