Family Photos

Now, that MOST of you have probably gotten our Christmas card, I can finally post these. I was waiting, cause I didn't want it to be too repetitive. But we had some photos taken by a local photographer who I met through our church. Kim Angelo Photography.
She did a great job, and it helped me reminisce on
1. How cute Keaton is... and
2. How much he's already changed. (By that I meant how chunky he's gotten) :)
I hate getting photos taken, because I am so critical of myself and what I look like, but I do it because later on when I look back, I always love them, and love to remember that specific time in our lives.

You might be wondering why I've started posting my photos so small (actually probably not, but I'll tell you anyway) :). My blog layout was getting really messed up when I was posting them bigger and I don't know how to fix it and I'm really too lazy to figure it out. But if you click on them, you should get a better view.
I'm going to try and get in a 2011 remembrance post before the year passes. I can't believe it's 4 days away from 2012. Now, that we have Keaton the importance of photos and capturing who he is right now is so important. SO, here's to family photos, and capturing beautiful moments in time.

Baby's First...

Merry Christmas from Keaton and all his toys!

Since he won't remember this year at all, it will be really great when we rewrap all of them next year and take the same photo.
Peace, Love and Christmas!

At 2 months

Keaton at 2 months you have changed so much.
You don't make as many faces as you used to, but you smile all the time, so that makes up for it. Getting a picture of your smile is slightly more difficult. :)

You have gotten so big, you finally started getting a few rolls around your skinny little legs (little rolls, but they're there).

You have always been a good sleeper, but alot of nights you'll sleep from 7-4 or 5 and mommy loves this!!

You are still a grunter, but you have become much more relaxed. Mommy totes you around everywhere and you just chill and go with it.

You do cry sometimes, but mostly only when you're hungry, if it's dark in the car or really close to your bedtime. One funny time you cry is if I am feeding you and take the boobie away and wait a minute- you'll wail out very loud- as if to say, "how dare you do that to me?"

You do like to be held, but you also really like to hang out on your play gym OR your swing.

Every night before bed we listen to music, if you are upset and I put music on- you start kicking your legs all around and flapping your arms a bit, mommy thinks it's very cute.

You having been cooing for a bit, but the last week or so, you've started a few little squeals too, they aren't very loud now, so I find them endearing, but I'm sure that will change.

You still have the most sensitive skin in the world... everyone talks about babies being soft and smooth, but not you- you're a scaly little fella. I look forward to all the winter dryness passing (though this won't happen anytime soon).

You still like to give people the brows and I definitely like this about you!

You love to stare at your mommy and I love to stare back at you!

"Mom, I'm already too long for this dumb basket"

With Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Jake's family. His brother (and my cousin) and their 2 kids started off our holidays with a bang. They came a few days before Thanksgiving and actually stayed until today as the brothers Christmas tree farmed together. Jake's parents also joined us for a few delightful days, and Nancy my mother in law has a few more pictures on her blog as well.
I hope to post more pics of all this craziness soon, but here are a few from Thanksgiving to jump start.

Standard Stall family photo

Table set all pretty... I somehow missed a picture of ALL the food because we scarfed it to pieces (and haven't stopped holiday scarfing since)

Little man's first turkey day... see turkey does make you sleepy. :)

Cousins: Main objective: Try to eat each other.

Baby Dedication

Keaton got dedicated at church last month. It was kind of sad not to have our family there. So many friends came to stand with us and represent as witnesses the life we want to live for Keaton as parents and the path we want him to take in following God. But that also made me sad because these friends are just a stop on our journey. Even though they came to stand behind us in that moment, the truth is they won't be there forever. Those are the moments when I remember that I'm a military wife. And this is my life for now...
Regardless, in "dedicating" him- I was reminded of the high calling of Christian parenthood, the many uphill battles we will fight against this world and the even bigger battles that Keaton will face. He's such a good baby, and so sweet and perfect. I can't imagine the future like that now, but I know it will come. So, I'm reminded to pray for him and of course to ask for more patience (cause one day I know I will need it).

So, despite my blogging absence life has continued to move forward. In fact, it's been moving quite fast.
Somehow 27 years blew by, and I have a husband, a baby and a house.
And I love all 3.

I spent the evening with my girls, which I failed to take pictures of... Sad face. But I will give you a hint of what we did.

That's right, my hubby did a little babysitting. :) And we had a wonderful time!
